Our Teaching Team

Irene (Principal)

My name is Irenne, I used to work as a nurse assistant back in the States before pursuing my career as an educator.

I have worked with different types of curriculum, from classical, Cambridge as well as Montessori. I started teaching formally in Surabaya as an assistant teacher and worked my way up. Teaching young adults to toddlers and babies. I’ve also been blessed with the opportunity to work as a principal for over five years in Jakarta and in building school branches as well.

I believe as each child is unique, and different approach is needed to help them reach their best potential. And I am very excited to join the Middleton team as they cater to these needs and have what I think is one of the best teaching methods out there..

Ariyono

Yenny

Hello, I am Yenny. My education background is in Architecture and I completed my bachelor’s degree from Petra Christian University, Surabaya. My passion in music made me continue my music education in Mannheim Music School, Germany. I also have a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Monash University, Australia and I earned my IB PYP (International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program) certificate from University of Windsor, Canada.

I love teaching and have been an educator for almost 20 years. My teaching experience is in music and art for early childhood and primary education. In addition, I have been teaching various students from various age groups ranging from 4 to 18 years old.

I believe that every child is unique and through play, children can learn and develop their skills. I also believe that learning is important because the goal of education is to help children to become lifelong learners.

Anissa

Anissa Syawlina is an early childhood educator who has ventured in teaching at several International Schools in Jakarta and Bogor for over the past sixteen years. Anissa holds a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Pakuan University in Bogor. She used to teach in Sekolah Bogor Raya for nine years and continued her journey to work as a teacher in Royal Tots Academy for two years. She then expanded her wings at ISMILE, a Reggio Emilia-inspired school for two years as well. Before joining Middleton Preschool Surabaya, Anissa was also a teacher in Sampoerna Academy Sentul for two years.

Anissa believes that the teacher’s role is to guide and facilitate students’ learning journey. She also believes that students should be able to have choices and let their curiosity direct their learning. She believes that we, as the teacher, should give access for them (students) to explore more and make their learning experiences fun as always.

Anissa’s teaching experiences in several schools with diverse philosophies and curriculums (such as IB, IPC, and Reggio Emilia) have made her realize that students come from different backgrounds and needs. She is dedicated to discovering students’ varying learning styles, ensuring each student’s unique academic needs meet the expectations.

Joscelind

My name is Joscelind Eugenia. I completed my bachelor’s degree in Food Technology and Nutrition at RMIT University (Melbourne, Australia) and worked in that field for a year. However, I decided to shift my career to early childhood education after participating in some volunteering events related to children. I have always enjoyed spending time with children and wish to provide positive experiences which can help them reach their fullest potential. Last year, I completed a graduate diploma in Early Childhood Education at RMIT University and I have gained experience and knowledge from the program and from extensive field placements. Outside of placements, I have had the experience of working as a casual early childhood educator assistant at a children’s centre in Australia. I would love to continue my career as an educator with Middleton Preschool Surabaya and I hope to make positive contributions to your school.
